Goodwill Industries helps people become independent through education and training leading to employment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

To provide excellent customer service to Goodwill donors through prompt and courteous attention.

To process and sort donated goods in the Donation Center; to prepare donations for transport to Goodwill stores.

To encourage and promote a mutual associate/customer relationship which enhances the profitability of Goodwill Industries.

To establish positive relationships with participants, customers and associates to successfully implement Goodwill’s mission services.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To greet customers and donors upon entering the location/store.
• To physically handle processed and unprocessed goods in and out of the production area by hand, machine, mechanical device or container.
• To load and unload trucks from the distribution center.
• To unload donations from donor’s/purchaser’s vehicles.
• To process donated or new goods to include sorting, grading, tagging, hanging, cleaning, testing, inspecting, counting, colorizing, sizing and to assure quality control.
• To organize, inventory and count processed and unprocessed goods for store orders or seasonal storage.
• To provide donation receipts upon request.
• To record the number of vehicles making donations daily.
• To empty trash and perform general housekeeping, custodial and janitorial duties as may be scheduled and assigned.
• To perform all other duties as assigned.

Responsible to: Business Services Manager

Education: Functional reading, writing, and mathematical skills.

Work Experience: Previous production experience and/or customer service experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: Daily requirements may include climbing, balancing, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, stooping, kneeling, handling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. May be exposed to dust and odors. May be required to do limited work outdoors.

Safety & Security: Responsible for following all safety, security, and money handling procedures, as directed by Goodwill policy.

Work Hours: As assigned by location.

Work Attire: Each associate should present a fashionable, neat, and clean appearance that will be reflective of Goodwill’s positive image in the community.
