Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Condition Report Writer to inspect vehicles for damage, missing parts and mechanical issues, then document the vehicle condition and repair cost estimates. You will use a tablet to capture data, photos, VIN and condition notes.

You will recommend reconditioning to enhance value, stay current on labor rates and parts, and assist on sale day with vehicle movement. A HS diploma and ASE/ICAR certifications are required, with body shop experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ASE and/or ICAR certifications or automotive repair background required.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Strong follow-up and documentation skills.
• Experience in body shop environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles to document condition including damage and missing parts.
• Complete Condition Reports with vehicle data, descriptions, costs and photos using a tablet.
• Provide reconditioning recommendations to increase vehicle value.
• Record repair or replacement costs and assess systems (paint, engine, tires, electronics).
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor rates and parts charges; follow procedures.
• Support sale day activities including lane coordination and vehicle movement.
