Job summary

ACV Auctions in Texas is seeking an automotive inspector to perform vehicle inspections to assess overall condition for lane and online sales. You will verify VINs, update vehicle details, inspect equipment, interiors, tires, and mechanical components.

The role requires documenting damages, taking photos, managing odometer readings, and reporting frame and mechanical conditions. You must be detail-oriented, able to operate a computer or tablet, and write professional reports, with a valid

Qualifications

• Ability to operate computer, laptop, or tablet (iPad preferred).
• Ability to write reports in a professional manner.
• Basic knowledge of vehicles.
• Ability to utilize standardized lists to assign costs for damage.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform vehicle inspections to assess overall condition in support of the processing and sale of client vehicle in the lane and online.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Verify vehicle identification.
• Identify and update vehicle information, including Year, Make, Model, Trim Lines.
• Inspect vehicle equipment, options, interior, tires, mechanical components.
• Document and estimate vehicle damages.
• Take photographs as needed to support and complete reports, or as necessary on sales days.
• Move vehicles throughout the lot and park them in designated areas if needed.
• Review and document odometer information.
• Assess frame condition and document damages to unibody and/or frame.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

• Post high school training in damage assessment is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

• Able to digitally photograph vehicles and upload photos to computer.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Must be detail oriented.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.

• Able to work outside in any weather conditions.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.

• Must be able and willing to be underneath vehicles to do visual frame inspection.
