Job summary

PACCAR seeks a Vehicle Calibration Engineer to join the Calibration team, focusing on calibration and in-vehicle verification for heavy- and medium-duty functions. You will operate within a global cross-divisional team to develop and calibrate best-in-class vehicle features for North America.

The role involves interfacing with Controls, Software, and Validation groups, translating requirements into calibration data, and delivering high-quality software releases across multiple configurations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in vehicle development, integration, or testing.
• Knowledge of vehicle and powertrain management systems and performance.
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols: J1939, UDS, XCP, Ethernet, CAN-bus, LIN-bus.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong communication of technical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Independently calibrate, verify, release, and implement software for vehicle-level features across configurations and powertrains.
• Apply engineering judgment to integrate and optimize vehicle performance through in-vehicle testing.
• Review requirements docs, identify gaps, ambiguities, and testability concerns to support calibration.
• Develop and execute test plans for verification and document defects for resolution.
• Provide technical feedback on product changes affecting calibration, testing, and feature behavior.
• Support calibration releases with limited oversight and manage assigned releases.
• Translate customer and system requirements into calibration data and configurations.
• Collaborate with Controls, Software, and Validation teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Deliver work on schedule while maintaining calibration quality standards.
• Maintain knowledge of feature interactions and product requirements for functions.
