Job summary

Stellantis Auburn Hills is seeking an experienced Vehicle Access leader to drive the design and release of RF receiver modules, key fobs, ignition start/stop interfaces, and digital key systems for our modern lines. You will coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to match program milestones and ensure robust security across the vehicle access stack.

This role requires 8+ years in Vehicle Access development, deep knowledge of CAN/LIN, BLE, NFC, UWB, and automotive cybersecurity standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in Vehicle Access component development & releasing.
• Expertise in CAN, LIN, BLE, NFC, and UWB technologies.
• Familiarity with encryption algorithms, secure key management, and authentication protocols.
• Understanding of ISO/SAE 21434 automotive cybersecurity standards.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and system diagrams.
• Experience with vehicle level validation.
• Reviewing software code and test methods/reports.
• Identifying gaps that reduce system cost across components and processes.
• Experience with passive entry, passive start, Digital Key Systems, or Remote Key Entry (RKE).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Vehicle Access devices/systems: RF receiver modules, key fob, digital key.

Basic Scopes of work:

Vehicle Access Development:

• Lead the design/development of the following Vehicle Access devices/systems: RF receiver modules, RF transmitter key fob, ignition start/stop button, digital key systems
• Validate the interfaces with other vehicle components
• Utilize system design approaches to meet and improve the functional requirements of Vehicle Access systems
• Interface with Tier-1 suppliers to track program timing and deliverables
• Support module validation for assigned hardware and software
• Support manufacturing builds at both supplier facilities and Stellantis vehicle assembly plants
• Meet all vehicle program milestones and conduct all releasing processes within Stellantis related to the component and its interface within the vehicle

Regulatory / Certifications:

• Support the Vehicle Development team with certifications and compliance for owned components

CAD/Packaging:

• Support the module development teams in packaging their modules with multiple vehicle lines
• Locate modules in vehicle, understand and communicate conflicts to module engineers & vehicle designers

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in Vehicle Access component development & releasing
• Expertise in CAN, LIN, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), NFC, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technologies
• Vector CAN tools (CANalyzer or CANoe) related to CAN/CAN-FD vehicle bus networking protocols
• Familiarity with encryption algorithms, secure key management, and authentication protocols.
• Understanding of ISO/SAE 21434 and related automotive cybersecurity standards.
• Reading and interpreting Electrical Engineering schematics and system level block diagrams
• Experience with vehicle level validation
• Reviewing software code and test methods/reports
• Identifying the gaps that reduce system cost varying from component to process systems
• Experience with product development of passive entry, passive start, Digital Key Systems, or Remote Key Entry (RKE)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 10+ years of experience in Vehicle Access systems and component development & releasing
• Proven track record in RF design and secure communication systems
• Knowledge of digital key ecosystems and smartphone integration.
• Familiarity with functional safety and cybersecurity frameworks
