Job summary

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a Vegetation Management Strategist to lead long-term vegetation strategies, strengthen grid reliability, and reduce operational risk. You will work with Vegetation Management, Wildfire Mitigation, Reliability, and Asset Management teams to develop data-driven work plans and evaluate technology solutions for program effectiveness.

The role requires coordinating with vendors, applying GIS/data analytics, and presenting findings to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in arboriculture, forestry, urban forestry, natural resource management, environmental science, or related; or equivalent.
• Eight (8) years of work experience in strategic planning and setting strategies at department/organization level.
• Experience with utility vegetation management, electric distribution planning, reliability, wildfire mitigation, or asset management programs.
• Experience developing risk-based work plans, prioritization models, scenario analyses, and long-range investment strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute long-term vegetation management strategies to strengthen system reliability.
• Lead data-driven work plans and assess technology solutions to enhance program effectiveness.
• Manage relationships with vegetation analytics technology vendors and evaluate renewals or new tools.
• Collaborate with Vegetation Management to align annual work plans with reliability goals.
• Perform scenario modeling to balance cost, risk reduction, and reliability outcomes.
• Define KPIs and reporting standards for program performance and risk reduction.
• Oversee dashboards and present performance and strategic recommendations to leadership.
