Description:

Enjoy working outdoors? Would you like to gain experience in Forestry? ACRT Pacific is seeking energetic entry-level professionals for full-time roles as Vegetation Management Inspectors. Ideal candidates have educational backgrounds in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, biology, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields, and are eager to gain practical experience.

Contingent upon client approval, Inspectors patrol for hazard trees, perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines. They assist in submitting inspection results with recommendations, plan and coordinate activities of tree clearance crews, discuss access issues, and act as liaisons among clients, crews, and customers.

*Active TRAQ Certification required*

Compensation: Includes potential sign-on bonus and retention incentives totaling $3000.

Residence requirement: Candidates must reside within 50 miles of San Carlos, CA, or be willing to relocate.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Perform circuit patrols per annual VM plan and standards.
2. Identify and prescribe tree work along PG&E rights-of-way, document inspections.
3. Ensure inspections meet standards and notify property owners about tree work, obtaining necessary permissions.
4. Serve as the VM contact for new business and reconstruction requests.
5. Verify work completion and quality through inspections.
6. Investigate outages related to trees and participate in outage meetings.
7. Manage VM tags, track work, and notify customers at non-routine locations.
8. Support emergency responses, including dispatching crews and site checks.
9. Complete tasks independently as assigned by supervisors.
10. Oversee vegetation projects, including field assessments and work quality.
11. Participate in safety and tailboard meetings.
12. Represent PG&E in customer relations and coordinate with stakeholders.
13. Ensure compliance with permits and environmental measures.
14. Proficiently use electronic devices for documentation and reporting.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Patrol circuits, prescribe work to maintain compliance.
• Assess trees for hazards and determine trimming or removal needs.
• Notify property owners and manage work documentation.
• Handle outage investigations, permits, and data entry.
• Support emergency and safety protocols.
• Maintain communication with PG&E personnel, agencies, and customers.
• Adhere to ACRT's guiding principles and perform other duties as required.

Equipment, Environmental, and Safety Requirements:

• Operate vehicles and equipment, walk on uneven ground, and work in various weather conditions.
• Use forestry tools and safety gear.

Qualifications:

Must meet:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Class C driver’s license.
• *Active TRAQ Certification required*

Residence within 50 miles of San Carlos, CA, is mandatory.
