Description:

Enjoy working outdoors? Would you like to gain experience in Forestry? ACRT Pacific is seeking energetic entry-level professionals who enjoy outdoor work. This full-time position offers experience in Forestry, ideal for those with backgrounds in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, biology, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields.

Our Vegetation Management Inspectors patrol hazard trees, perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines, and assist in submitting inspection results with recommendations. They also plan, direct, and coordinate activities of tree clearance crews, discuss access issues, and serve as a liaison among clients, crews, and customers.

This role is safety-sensitive.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Perform circuit patrols according to VM plans and standards.
  2. Identify and prescribe necessary tree work along PG&E rights-of-way, document inspections.
  3. Ensure inspections meet standards.
  4. Notify property owners and obtain necessary permissions for tree work.
  5. Act as a VM contact for new and re-construction work.
  6. Verify work completion and quality.
  7. Investigate outages related to trees and document findings.
  8. Manage VM tags, track and notify customers, and assist in CC&B case closeouts.
  9. Support emergency responses and dispatch tree crews as needed.
  10. Complete tasks independently as assigned.
  11. Support vegetation projects and participate in safety meetings.
  12. Act as a customer relations representative.
  13. Coordinate with contractors, agencies, and stakeholders for project success.
  14. Ensure compliance with all relevant permits and environmental measures.
  15. Proficiently use electronic devices for documentation and reporting.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Patrol circuits, prescribe work, and ensure compliance.
  • Assess trees for hazards and determine trimming or removal needs.
  • Notify property owners and document work in PG&E systems.
  • Use electronic devices for work documentation.
  • Participate in emergency responses and safety procedures.
  • Maintain communication with PG&E personnel, agencies, and customers.

Equipment & Safety:

  • Operate vehicles and forestry equipment, walk on uneven ground, and work in various environmental conditions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, with a valid Class C driver’s license.
  • At least one year of arboricultural experience, ISA certification, or relevant college degree.
  • Reside within 50 miles of San Carlos.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of local trees and growth rates.
  • Ability to learn company software and read maps.
  • Strong communication, accuracy, reliability, and independence.
