Job summary

H2ajobs seeks field workers to harvest cabbage for value-added processing in Texas. Workers will cut, trim, and core cabbage heads using manual tools and automated equipment, inspect quality, and place produce on conveyors for packaging.

Training occurs under field supervisors, with handling of heavy loads and operation of belt systems as part of daily tasks. Housing and meals are provided, with weekly transportation to a grocery store for essentials.

Qualifications

• Must be able to distinguish colors of the product; color blind not allowed.
• Must be able to use shears, clippers and other agricultural tools.
• No smoking, illegal drugs, alcohol, or weapons in housing or work fields.
• Worker safety on the job and in employer-provided housing is our top priority.

Responsibilities

• Field workers harvest cabbage and prepare for value-added processing.
• Operate belt machines and assist with core removal and trimming of cabbage.
• Inspect cabbage quality and place heads on belts for binning and palletization.
• Transport and handle bins weighing up to 50 lbs; pallets up to 95 lbs; work in uneven furrows.
