The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene invites applications for a College Aide in the Division of Environmental Health. This part-time position supports the Office of Vector Surveillance and Control and the Bureau of Veterinary and Pest Control Services.

Duties include field surveys, lab procedures, public outreach, and administrative tasks such as data entry and daily/weekly reports, helping protect New Yorkers from vector-borne diseases.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy with willingness to learn more.
• Strong customer service orientation with courteous telephone manner.

Responsabilités

• Helping with identification of vectors of human diseases such as mosquitoes and ticks.
• Conducting field survey and lab procedures for environmental assessment of vector-borne diseases.
• Assisting with public-outreach activities, including presenting and distributing educational flyers to the public.
• Performing different administrative tasks including data entry and compiling daily and weekly reports, as required
