Job summary

Multnomah County Health Department seeks a Vector Program Supervisor to lead Environmental Health Services’ Vector Control and Code Enforcement unit. The incumbent will supervise staff, manage grants, and ensure regulatory compliance while engaging with community partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include bachelor's degree or equivalent and three years of relevant experience with total equivalency of seven years.
• Strong supervisory, planning, budgeting and communication skills are essential.
• Experience leading vector control/public health programs is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and approve planning, prioritizing, assigning, and reviewing work of a diverse workforce.
• Perform supervisory duties including performance evaluation, hiring, training, and development.
• Develop and oversee Integrated Pest Management and vector control practices aligned with policies.
• Coordinate program objectives, grants, contracts, and revenue projections.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with county, state, and federal requirements.
• Represent the department to stakeholders and the media, and participate in policy development.
• Assist in budget decisions and department leadership initiatives.
