Job summary
ATCS's Construction Services group in Virginia is expanding and seeks individuals with VA construction management and inspection experience who can obtain VDOT certifications. We welcome Inspectors, Trainees, and Senior Inspectors to join our Staunton area team.
Duties include highway/bridge inspections, daily progress reports, contractor oversight, field testing, and thorough documentation. The path from trainee to senior inspector is open, with competitive pay and benefits.
Qualifications
- Experience in roadway construction with VDOT standards.
- Ability to obtain required certifications within 12 months of employment.
- Valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Perform transportation construction inspections on Highway, Bridges, Environmental, Traffic, and Facilities projects.
- Write daily progress reports.
- Oversee contractor work crews to ensure contract compliance and safe practices.
- Perform field tests on concrete slump/air, soil compaction, and HMA.
- Document materials, labor, safety, pay estimates, work orders, and adjustments.
- Report on-site activities to the Project Engineer via standardized reporting.
