Job summary

D2 Consulting is seeking a VDI Engineer to support a government customer in Springfield, VA or Arnold, MO. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph and offers exposure to large, globally accessed desktop infrastructures.

The candidate will design, configure, and maintain VDI environments, act as SME for performance issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence and secure, scalable deployments.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• 5+ years of related experience with BS or equivalent.
• Experience with Citrix VAD, PVS, MCS and CVAD.
• Citrix Netscaler / ADC / VPX experience.
• Familiar with Liquidware Profile Unity and Workspace Environment Management (WEM).
• Hyper-V and VMware VDI experience; Leostream and HP AnyConnect familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design VDI solutions for large, globally accessed environments.
• Provide Tier 3/4 support to system administrators for VDI issues.
• Lead desktop optimization for platform interoperability and act as liaison between VDI technologies.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of administration and implementation of VDI tech.
• Operate across multiple production environments with multiple stakeholders.
• Conduct trade studies and make recommendations on solutions.

As a VDI Engineer you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a TS/SCI cleared VDI Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or Arnold, MO.

HOW A VDI ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Virtual Desktop Engineer to support the design, configuration, and maintenance of a large, globally accessed virtual desktop environment. This role will be the SME in troubleshooting all related performance issue across the organization. Additionally, the position will require an individual experienced in system design and integration, identity life-cycle management, and process automation and improvement.

We are looking for an individual who has a proven track record designing and maintaining VDI in a large enterprise. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who exceeds as an individual, as well as excels among peers in a team environment. The individual should possess a passion for operational excellence and a high level of interpersonal and soft skills.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

• In addition to architecting and designing, the VDI Engineer will provide TIER 3/4 support to system administrators in order to resolve VDI issues.
• Provide guidance on optimization of desktops for platform interoperability and act as liaison between Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies.
• Offers endpoint support on issues and trouble resolution tasks on Virtual Desktop related tasks.
• Maintains an Advanced knowledge relative to administration, engineering, and implementation of virtual desktop infrastructure-related technologies.
• Operate across multiple and complex production environments with multiple stakeholders.
• Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
• Conducts trade studies and makes recommendations on solutions and "make buy" decisions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph. Can sponsor for a polygraph.
• Experience providing engineering support for legacy and current versions of Citrix products.
• 5+ years of experience with BS degree or a combination of years of experience and education
• Progressive roles from Administrator to Sr. Engineer
• Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops v7.15 and later
• Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and Machine Creation Services (MCS)
• Citrix Cloud Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)
• Citrix Netscaler / ADC / VPX
• Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM)
• Citrix App Layering
• Liquidware Profile Unity
• Hyper V, VMWare VDI (Microsoft or Citrix NetScalers / ADCs)
• Familiar with HP AnyConnect and Leostream

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience managing and administering Windows Server clustering
• Experience with Infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.
• System Center Virtual Machine Manager/Vmware Vcenter 6.7
• Active Directory/ Group Policies
• Home Directory and Profile management Support Services
• Desktop Software provisioning and Support Services

• Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $160-170k. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
