Job summary

Lighthouse Electric is seeking a Virtual Design Construction Specialist to advance BIM modeling, clash detection, and coordination across commercial projects in a fast-paced environment. You will contribute to 3D modeling, shop drawings, and ongoing workflow improvements.

As a VDC Specialist, you will mentor junior staff, participate in coordination meetings, and help drive quality and efficiency in BIM efforts while supporting design and construction teams in Columbus and nearby regions.

Qualifications

• Reading floor plans, sections, and elevations.
• Proficiency with BIM360, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Navisworks, Revit, and file sharing platforms.
• Demonstrated competency modeling from a 2D document to a 3D model.
• Construction experience is preferred.
• Effective interoffice collaboration and strong problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Produces, edits, and coordinates 3D object‑oriented models.
• Produces, annotates, and details fabrication and field installation shop drawings.
• Participates in development and improvement of workflows and SOPs.
• Identifies model-related issues to the project team.
• Maintains regular contact with their project team.
• Develops basic knowledge of BIM software, 3D design, and construction documents.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
