Job summary

Torgeson Electric is seeking a VDC/BIM Specialist to leverage 3D model data for electrical system design, coordinate models with detailers, and prepare shop drawings for field use. You will engage in model coordination meetings and contribute to preconstruction/VDC activities.

Ideal candidates bring CAD/Revit experience and basic electrical knowledge, plus strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous CAD/Revit experience required.
• Basic electrical knowledge is a plus.
• Strong organization and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

VDC/BIM Specialist

As a VDC/BIM Specialist at Torgeson Electric, you'll use virtual modeling to support advanced electrical system design: coordinating models, preparing shop drawings, and supporting job layout using 3D model data.

What you'll do

• Attend and assist in model coordination meetings, documenting preconstruction/VDC meetings and compiling meeting minutes
• Coordinate models with internal and subcontractor detailers and modelers
• Help process shop/fabrication-level models for approval and prepare shop drawings from the model for field use
• Participate in job layout driven by 3D model data
• Maintain a log of updated as-builts and revised Building Information Models

Pay & Schedule

• Competitive pay, based on experience
• 40+ hours/week
• Travel allowance and lodging provided when travel is required

What we're looking for

• Previous CAD/Revit experience required
• Basic electrical knowledge (familiarity with electrical systems and terminology is a plus)
• Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including working professionally with a variety of stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and project management software
• Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
