Job summary

Pepper Construction is seeking a Project Engineer for Virtual Construction to support modeling and detailing tasks with a focus on structural modeling and rebar detailing using Tekla Structures. You will contribute to model-based deliverables and project coordination across structural and enclosure systems.

The role is ideal for early-career professionals eager to grow in VDC workflows, learn Pepper standards, and collaborate with design partners and field teams in a Chicago-area setting.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, Detailing, or BIM is required.
• 2–4 years of experience in structural modeling, rebar detailing, or VDC workflows.
• Experience using Tekla Structures is required; familiarity with concrete and rebar modeling is a plus.
• Exposure to Tekla Custom Components, Reports & Templates is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate rebar models and shop-level detailing using Tekla Structures.
• Support model creation for structural and enclosure systems, including geometry and connections.
• Produce model-based deliverables such as drawings, reports, and quantities.
• Maintain model organization and compliance with Pepper standards.
