  • Strong experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and related BIM/VDC platforms.
  • Solid understanding of clash detection, construction sequencing, model coordination, and BIM/VDC workflows.
  • Experience leading coordination meetings with subcontractors, design teams, and project leadership.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites throughout New England.

Job description

We're partnering with a well-established commercial construction firm to hire a VDC Manager to support projects throughout New England. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced VDC/BIM professional ready to take ownership of VDC efforts, lead project coordination, and play a key role in the continued growth of a VDC department. This role will oversee BIM/VDC coordination, 2D, 3D, and 4D modeling, logistics planning, clash detection, construction sequencing, and project visualization across multiple projects. You'll work closely with preconstruction teams, project executives, project managers, design professionals, and subcontractors while leading coordination efforts and helping establish VDC standards and best practices. Projects will primarily include complex healthcare, life sciences, academic, and commercial construction throughout New England.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead VDC/BIM coordination efforts across multiple active and upcoming construction projects.
  • Oversee the development of 2D, 3D, and 4D models, site logistics plans, renderings, and proposal graphics.
  • Lead clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination between architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings with project teams, design professionals, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and oversee construction sequencing, logistics planning, and model-based project coordination.
  • Manage project models, point clouds, existing-condition scans, and other digital project information.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve VDC standards, workflows, and best practices across the organization.
  • Provide VDC support during both preconstruction and project execution.
  • Oversee multiple projects and ensure VDC deliverables remain aligned with project schedules and expectations.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to VDC Coordinators and other junior team members.
  • Work closely with project leadership to identify coordination challenges early and develop effective solutions.
  • Evaluate new VDC technologies, software, and processes that can improve project delivery and team efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • Previous experience in a VDC Manager, BIM Manager, Senior VDC Coordinator, BIM Coordinator, or similar role within commercial construction.
  • Strong experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and related BIM/VDC platforms.
  • Strong understanding of clash detection, construction sequencing, model coordination, and BIM/VDC workflows.
  • Experience leading coordination meetings and working directly with subcontractors, design teams, and project leadership.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience mentoring or overseeing junior VDC/BIM professionals preferred.
  • Experience with Procore and construction collaboration software is a plus.
  • Experience with complex healthcare, life sciences, academic, or commercial construction projects is highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel to project sites throughout New England as needed.

Pay Range:$75,000 – $110,000+ annually.
