Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company seeks undergraduates for a hands-on internship focused on Virtual Building (VDC) practices and digital technologies in construction. You will join VDC and project teams to support initiatives from initiation to turnover, with assignments on office and job site locations.

Expect to learn how technology enhances construction processes, including 3D modeling, rendering, 4D/5D scheduling, and reality capture.

Qualifications

• Open to undergraduate students seeking hands-on practical experience in construction.
• Interest in Virtual Building practices and Digital Technologies.
• Willingness to relocate to remote sites may be required; housing may be provided in some cases.
• Transportation is required; 10–12 week program with 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist VDC and project teams through all phases of a project from initiation to turnover.
• Learn how technology enhances construction processes in the field and office.
• Support 3D modeling, rendering, phasing, 4D scheduling, and digital twin development.
• Interface with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to mitigate conflicts.
