Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company invites undergraduates to join our internship program in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, or Tulsa. You'll gain hands-on experience in Virtual Building and Digital Technologies on real projects.

You will assist VDC and project teams through all phases from initiation to turnover, learning 3D modeling, site planning, VR/AR, and coordination with architects, engineers, and owners.

Qualifications

• Open to undergraduate students interested in gaining hands-on practical experience in the construction field with a specialization in Virtual Building practices and Digital Technologies.
• Qualified applicants will assist our VDC and project teams through all phases of a project—from initiation through turnover.

Responsibilities

• You will be learning how technology enhances construction processes in addition to technical aspects of the project both in the field and in the office.
• Your experience will include some or all the following: learning 3D modeling to support site logistics planning, 3D printing, VR/AR/MR, virtual mock-ups, existing conditions documentation, rendering and animations, 4D scheduling, 5D takeoffs, laser scanning, and digital coordination.
