Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking a self-motivated, energetic BIM/VDC contributor to join its internal VDC team in Maryland. The role emphasizes understanding building construction, BIM software proficiency, and cross-discipline collaboration to deliver efficient virtual designs and simulations.

Responsibilities include coordinating 3D models, validating schedules, and advancing new software and hardware to improve project quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management preferred or an Associate in a VDC/BIM concentration with 3–5 years of experience.
BIM software, hardware, and technology knowledge.

Responsibilities

Create virtual simulations to validate and improve site logistics, safety concerns, building sequencing, scheduling, and VR experiences.
Manage 3D coordination activities with operation teams from kickoff through closeout.
Perform preconstruction model tasks including quality verifications, schedule validations, constructability reviews, and virtual mock-up production.
Drive research and development of new software, hardware, and technology to optimize execution and project quality.
