Job summary

MissionHires seeks a skilled VDC Detailer to provide advanced detailing, BIM modeling, and MEP coordination for major mechanical construction projects. You will create precise shop drawings and equipment room layouts, support clash detection, and ensure document control for project teams.

You will lead and mentor junior detailers, coordinate with design and build teams, read construction documents, and participate in meetings to resolve design issues and keep schedules on track.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a trade apprenticeship program or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience creating mechanical shop drawings, equipment room layouts, and detailed construction documentation.
• Experience with BIM-based 3D modeling and MEP coordination.
• Proficiency with Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Create advanced shop drawings for mechanical systems.
• Develop equipment room layouts and detailed drawings.
• Produce and maintain advanced 3D BIM models for mechanical systems.
• Perform and support MEP coordination and clash detection to reduce construction errors, rework, time, and costs.
• Receive, log, track, expedite, distribute, and maintain shop drawings, RFIs, and other project documentation.
• Maintain organized document-control protocols for easy retrieval by stakeholders.
• Collaborate with design and build teams to resolve design flaws before construction.
• Read, interpret, and apply construction documents to detailing and coordination work.
• Attend and participate in construction and coordination meetings.
• Lead, train, and coach less experienced detailers; direct their workflow to meet schedules and quality standards.
