Job summary

Htprof seeks a VDC Designer / BIM Coordinator to support large-scale construction projects by developing, maintaining, and coordinating detailed 3D models.

You will work with engineering, field teams, and trade partners to ensure BIM reflects site conditions; strong Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360 skills are required, with MEP/LOD 500 modeling a plus.

This on-site Boise position may require up to 50 hours per week when project demands require overtime.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in the AEC industry.
  • Experience leading BIM coordination.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD, and BIM 360.
  • Experience with clash detection and multidisciplinary model coordination.
  • Familiarity with Procore and Bluebeam.
  • Proficiency interpreting P&IDs.

  • Strong ability to interpret drawings and specifications.

Position: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Reports to: Construction Manager
Location: Boise, Idaho – On-site at Micron

About the Role

Our client is seeking a VDC Designer / BIM Coordinator to support complex, large-scale construction projects through the development, maintenance, and coordination of detailed 3D models.

This position works closely with construction management, engineering, trade partners, and field teams to ensure BIM models accurately reflect project requirements and current site conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Revit and Navisworks, along with an understanding of MEP systems and construction coordination.

Experience with mechanical piping, semiconductor fabrication, data centers, advanced manufacturing, or other mission-critical environments is highly preferred.

Responsibilities
BIM Coordination
  • Develop, manage, and update 3D BIM models using Revit in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform clash detection, model federation, and multidisciplinary coordination using Navisworks Manage.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts between MEP, structural, architectural, and other project disciplines.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, construction managers, and field teams to maintain model accuracy.
  • Maintain standardized file structures, naming conventions, model organization, and BIM libraries.
  • Prepare construction-ready documentation, drawings, and model views for field use.
  • Manage model sharing, version control, and collaboration through BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud and other Common Data Environment platforms.
  • Facilitate model coordination, data exchange, issue tracking, and resolution using Navisworks, Newforma Konekt, and related platforms.
  • Participate in BIM and model-based coordination meetings with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Conduct model quality checks and audits to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC teams, construction management, superintendents, and trade professionals to identify and resolve coordination issues.
  • Participate in ad hoc meetings with subcontractors as needed.
  • Attend daily and weekly field meetings to remain aligned with current site conditions, construction sequencing, and project priorities.
  • Utilize project management and documentation tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office 365.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience within the AEC industry.
  • Experience supporting large-scale industrial, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, data center, or other mission-critical construction projects preferred.
  • 2+ year of experience leading or actively performing BIM coordination.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD, and BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Experience with clash detection and multidisciplinary model coordination.
  • Familiarity with Procore and Bluebeam preferred.
  • Proficiency interpreting P&IDs/Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
  • Experience with BIM coordination and LOD 500 modeling.
  • Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of MEP systems and construction coordination processes.
  • Experience with scripting or automation tools such as Dynamo, Python, or PowerShell is preferred.
  • Experience using point-cloud tools such as Autodesk ReCap for design verification or deviation analysis is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, issue-tracking, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with engineers, construction professionals, subcontractors, and trade partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced project environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail and quality.
  • Previous hands-on trade or field construction experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Flexibility to support extended hours, overtime, or off-shift work based on project requirements.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working up to approximately 50 hours per week when project demands require it. Overtime is compensated in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform work in both office and active construction-site environments.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and use computers and other technology for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and navigate active construction sites for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and move throughout project areas as required for field inspections and coordination.
  • Ability to work in environments that may include noise, dust, uneven terrain, and active construction operations.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions when required.
  • Ability to adjust to changing schedules and occasionally work extended hours with limited notice.
  • Ability to read technical documents and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to travel to project or client locations as required.
  • Ability to comply with all applicable jobsite safety requirements and protocols.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
