Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an Electrical BIM Designer to create and manage 3D models for electrical systems using Revit and related BIM tools. You will ensure models comply with project specs, codes, and industry standards while coordinating with engineers, architects, and contractors.

The role involves clash detection, design issue resolution, model exchanges with stakeholders, and maintaining models through the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Minimum 2–5 years of experience in electrical BIM design for commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Proficient in Revit for electrical systems modeling and coordination.
Familiar with BIM 360, Navisworks, Revizto, and clash-detection workflows.
Strong knowledge of electrical design concepts, codes, and standards.
Excellent communication and ability to work across teams.

Create and manage 3D models for electrical systems using Revit and other BIM tools
Ensure models comply with project specifications, codes, and industry standards
Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts with mechanical, structural, and other disciplines
Collaborate with engineering, project management, architects, contractors, and external consultants
Participate in coordination meetings and assist in resolving design issues
Manage model exchanges between internal and external stakeholders
Prepare electrical drawings, layouts, and other model-based deliverables
Maintain current models throughout the project lifecycle, including design changes and as-built documentation
Assist in developing BIM standards and best practices
Identify opportunities to streamline modeling and coordination workflows
Stay updated on BIM trends, tools, and industry developments relevant to electrical design

Requirements

2 to 5 years of experience in electrical BIM design, focused on commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects
Proven experience using Revit for electrical systems modeling
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Familiarity with BIM 360 and clash detection processes
Understanding of electrical design concepts, codes, and standards
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working across teams
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
High school diploma or equivalent
Two-year degree in electrical construction, electrical design for construction, or similar preferred
Ability to work in a professional office environment and use standard office equipment
Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
