Job summary

A-Line Staffing Solutions LLC in Detroit, MI is seeking a VDC Coordinator / Electrical BIM Detailer for a direct-hire, onsite role. You’ll produce precise 2D/3D coordination drawings to support prefabrication and field execution.

Daily tasks include coordinating models with architectural, structural, and MEP trades, running Navisworks clash detection, and driving issue resolution while interpreting floor plans and NEC guidelines. Strong communication and self-direction are valued.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of commercial electrical experience is required.
• ~1 year experience with Revit or AutoCAD is preferred.
• Experience with BIM coordination is beneficial.
• Basic understanding of NEC and electrical construction/install methods.
• Ability to interpret multi-trade construction drawings (architectural/structural/MEP).
• Certifications in Revit/AutoCAD/Navisworks are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D/3D coordination and fabrication drawings for conduit, cable tray, equipment pathways, and spaces.
• Coordinate models with architectural, structural, civil, and mechanical trades.
• Run clash detection in Navisworks and drive resolution of issues.
• Produce shop drawings aligned with prefabrication standards.
• Read and interpret floor plans, sections, and elevations (layering/line weights).
• Identify design conflicts or missing information and build needed families or library components.

A-Line Staffing is hiring a VDC Coordinator / Electrical BIM Detailer for a direct-hire opportunity with a leading electrical contractor in Detroit, MI. What you’ll do (day-to-day)

• Create detailed 2D/3D coordination + fabrication drawings for: Conduit, cable tray, equipment pathways Underground, overhead, ceilings, electrical rooms, underfloor conditions
• Coordinate models with other trades: architectural, structural, civil, mechanical
• Run clash detection in Navisworks
• Manage and drive resolution
• Produce shop drawings aligned with prefabrication standards
• Read and interpret floor plans, sections, elevations (layering/line weights)
• Identify design conflicts / missing info and build needed families/library components
• Work productively with minimal day-to-day direction (once onboarded)

What you need

• 0-2 years commercial electrical experience
• ~1 year experience using Revit or AutoCAD (preferred)
• Experience with or exposure to BIM coordination
• Basic understanding of NEC and electrical construction/install methods
• Ability to interpret multi-trade construction drawings (arch/struct/MEP/etc.)
• Tools (any of these): Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks
• Nice-to-haves: Revit / AutoCAD / Navisworks AEC certifications
• Associate degree/diploma (HS/GED ok)
