A leading electrical contractor in Detroit is seeking an Electrical BIM Detailer to develop detailed coordination drawings, including fabrication pathways for underground and overhead equipment. Candidates should have 0-2 years of commercial electrical experience with proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. Responsibilities include coordinating designs across multiple trades and producing detailed models while adhering to prefabrication standards. The role demands a solid understanding of electrical construction principles and compliance with building codes.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of commercial electrical experience; 1 year with Revit or AutoCAD is preferred.
• Revit, AutoCAD, or Navisworks AEC Certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of the NEC and fundamentals of electrical design.

Job description

The Electrical BIM Detailer develops detailed coordination drawings and fabrication electrical pathways of underground, above ground, under floor, overhead equipment, ceilings and electrical rooms.

• Basic knowledge of construction protocol & ability to interpret construction documents
• Develop detailed, two-dimensional and three-dimensional conduits, cable tray and equipment drawings for coordination with other trades and prefabrication based on the particular job specifications and design documents.
• Experience with electrical construction principles, products, and installation methods
• Coordinates architectural, civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical designs
• Experience with REVIT, AutoCAD MEP or Navisworks. Basic knowledge of building electrical code.
• Applying skills to produce shop drawings consistent with prefabrication guidelines and standards.
• Reading floor plans, section and elevations; Understanding layering and pen weights.
• Able to function productively with little instruction on daily work and under general instructions on new assignments
• Develops schematic and detailed level models, Identifies conflicts, incomplete or ambiguous design information. Creates new family/library components
• Proficient in AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and Navisworks

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

• 0-2 years of commercial electrical experience. 1 year of experience using Revit or AutoCAD preferred
• High School Diploma, GED or Associate Degree/Diploma
• Revit, AutoCAD, or Navisworks AEC Certifications preferred
• Knowledge of the NEC
• Experience with BIM coordination
• Fundamentals of electrical design and construction installation methods
• Understanding of construction blueprints (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and special systems).
