Job summary

Skyline Search Partners is seeking an experienced VDC/BIM Manager to lead our client’s VDC department, driving standards, workflows, and coordination across mechanical, plumbing, and fabrication operations. The role oversees Revit, Fabrication databases, and MEP coordination on multiple projects, with field and fabrication collaboration to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in VDC/BIM/MEP modeling in mechanical or plumbing construction.
• 2+ years leading projects, coordinators, or a VDC team.
• Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Fabrication for Revit and Navisworks.
• Experience producing or overseeing LOD 400 mechanical/plumbing models.
• Strong understanding of clash detection and multidisciplinary MEP coordination.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Fabrication databases and content management.
• Experience developing, implementing, or enforcing BIM/VDC standards and quality control processes.
• Ability to interpret and critically evaluate mechanical and plumbing drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
• Willingness to visit active construction sites and fabrication operations.
• Associate degree preferred or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of VDC Technicians and BIM professionals.
• Assign and balance modeling workloads across multiple active projects.
• Establish department priorities in collaboration with Project Managers and engineering leadership.
• Provide technical guidance, training, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Help determine future staffing, software, and process improvement needs.
• Establish measurable performance expectations and promote accountability across the team.
