Job summary

Ryan Companies has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a VDC Intern in our Atlanta office! This position offers a summer internship May–August or spring co-op May–December. The VDC intern assists the project team in learning construction processes and Ryan business policies.

Responsibilities include coordinating job-site activities, model management, BIM administration, and creating pursuit materials while gaining hands-on exposure to VDC software and project support tasks.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• Within 18 months of graduating with a four-year degree in Construction Engineering/Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, BIM Management or closely related field.
• Able to work 40 hours a week for at least a three-month term.
• Eight months is the ideal length for this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop a first-hand understanding of job-site coordination, scheduling, quality control and safety.
• Assist VDC Engineers and Managers in daily responsibilities, including model management, design coordination, field support, and other requests from the project team.
• Gain a working understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) administration, coordination, and model management.
• Assist project teams in creation of pursuit materials and other exhibits.
• Learn core VDC software and processes, including Autodesk and Adobe products.
• Develop and maintain site logistics and schedule sequencing models.
• Partner with project VDC resources and team members to create virtual mockups.
