Job summary

DP Electric Inc. is seeking a VDC Engineer to advance building information modeling (BIM) for electrical projects. The role focuses on managing BIM processes, creating precise electrical models, and coordinating with project teams to optimize workflow.

The candidate will guide BIM standards, perform model reviews, and support design coordination using Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP, and Bluebeam while embracing laser scanning, drone imaging, and AR technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 3 years of BIM/virtual design experience in electrical contracting.
• Proficiency in BIM software and virtual design tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain BIM execution plans and project BIM goals.
• Create accurate BIM models for electrical systems within the project model.
• Manage clash detection and resolution before construction.
• Provide BIM training and support to project teams.
• Conduct BIM reviews and audits to ensure standards and specs are met.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to integrate models.
• Apply technologies like laser scanning, drones, AR to enhance BIM workflows.
• Stay updated with BIM advancements and participate in training.
