VCS Coordinator - Mechanical Construction

At JH Kelly, we’re looking for a driven, tech-savvy VCS Coordinator who thrives on seamless model integration, clash-free coordination, and bridging design to field execution. This is your chance to make a real impact. This role is for someone who brings energy, precision, and collaborative leadership to the table every day.

Who We’re Looking For

We want a coordinator who doesn’t wait for clashes but anticipates them, drives resolutions, and keeps models aligned with fabrication and field realities. You’re curious, confident without arrogance, and already leveraging Revit, ACC, and advanced BIM tools to work smarter and faster. You’re the calm in the coordination storm, someone who earns trust through action and builds strong relationships across design, fab, and field teams. If you can juggle model updates, lead clash meetings, and keep the big picture in focus, you’re the kind of force multiplier we need to drive our virtual construction processes forward. Our VCS footprint spans multiple project sites, with this role based in Vancouver, WA.

What You’ll Do

As our VCS Coordinator, you’ll lead the coordination and implementation of Virtual Construction Systems (VCS) workflows, ensuring seamless integration of design, fabrication, and construction for HVAC, plumbing, piping, process, and electrical projects. This isn’t just a modeling role—it’s about leadership, execution, and cross‑discipline collaboration.

Pay Range: $30–$60 per hour (DOE), FLSA non‑exempt (OT eligible).

Here’s a deeper dive into what you’ll take on:

VCS Workflow Leadership

  • Lead coordination of VCS processes, ensuring alignment between design, fabrication, and field installation for mechanical, plumbing, process piping, HVAC, and electrical scopes.
  • Facilitate clash detection, resolution, and coordination meetings, driving effective communication and issue resolution among project stakeholders.
  • Oversee and maintain VCS project documentation, including schedules, coordination logs, clash detection reports, and model updates in Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
  • Manage the setup, maintenance, and optimization of virtual construction models using Revit, ACC, Revizto, and other BIM software.

Standards & Process Excellence

  • Develop, implement, and maintain templates, standards, and best practices for virtual construction processes to enhance project efficiency.
  • Drive team efficiency by implementing streamlined workflows, ensuring model accuracy, and maintaining organized documentation in a fast‑paced environment.

Training & User Support

  • Provide advanced user support and training to project teams on Revit, ACC, and VCS tools, ensuring effective adoption and utilization across disciplines.
  • Act as a proactive, visible liaison between VCS and project teams, bridging technical and field needs to align on priorities and solutions.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Foster strong relationships with the extended JH Kelly team, proactively engaging with designers, fabricators, field staff, and external stakeholders to drive innovation and project success.
  • Monitor coordination metrics and feedback to continuously improve VCS processes and project outcomes.
What You Bring
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in commercial mechanical, plumbing, process piping, HVAC, or electrical construction, with a focus on virtual design and construction processes.
  • Skills: Demonstrated expertise with Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for project coordination and management. Strong oral/written communication, advanced problem‑solving, and ability to lead in a flexible structure.
  • Mindset: Proactive, highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail and a proven track record of meeting/exceeding deadlines.
  • Tech Savvy: Required expertise in Revit and ACC; preferred experience with Navisworks, Fabrication/CADmep, Revizto, and advanced coordination tools.
  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.

The role also necessitates the ability to kneel, crouch, and crawl to view/inspect tight spaces, as well as lifting and carrying materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Good vision and hearing are essential for reading plans, inspecting work, and communicating on‑site. The individual must also be adaptable to working outdoors in various weather conditions, adhere to the site‑specific dress code, and comply with safety requirements by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and steel‑toed boots.
