Barasch & McGarry, the nation’s leading advocate for the 9/11 community, seeks an attorney to serve as a primary legal advocate for victims pursuing Victim Compensation Fund claims. The role focuses on developing strategies, evaluating evidence, and guiding clients through complex eligibility requirements.

You will manage a docket of wrongful death matters, counsel families, and coordinate with estate counsel to submit timely claims, appeals, and related documentation.

Formación

• J.D. and NY Bar admission (or another U.S. state bar).
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Experience with case-management systems (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Manage a docket of wrongful death claims.
• Counsel clients and families throughout the claims process.
• Develop claim strategy for complex and high-value VCF matters.
• Screen potential clients for VCF eligibility and identify evidentiary gaps and risks.
• Draft appeals, prepare testimony, and conduct hearings before the VCF.
