About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated MBA Associate to join our team for a 10‑week summer internship. This role is designed for individuals with a deep intellectual curiosity about venture capital, a strong analytical mindset, and a passion for supporting high‑potential founders.

What You’ll Do

• Identify and evaluate investment opportunities: Analyze potential investments that align with Cherryrock’s thesis, focusing on software‑driven innovation.
• Perform rigorous due diligence: Assess companies through deep financial analysis, competitive research, and customer interviews to determine investment viability.
• Develop investment theses: Research market trends, emerging sectors, and category leaders to refine Cherryrock’s strategic focus.
• Manage the deal pipeline: Support tracking of inbound and outbound deal flow, ensuring our team has full visibility into key opportunities.
• Synthesize insights: Present findings on market trends, company deep dives, and deal analyses to the Cherryrock team.
• Capstone Project: Develop and present an investment thesis on a sector or company of your choice, applying what you’ve learned throughout the summer.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an MBA or other relevant graduate program.
• 3–6 years of applicable work experience in venture capital, a startup, private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or another analytically rigorous environment.
• Strong financial acumen, including experience building and interpreting financial models.
• Experience conducting market research, synthesizing data, and drawing meaningful conclusions.
• Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team setting.
