Job Title: Barback
Division: Food and Beverage
Reports to: Bar Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

Responsible for assisting the bartender by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities
  • Assists bartenders with opening and closing of bar.
  • Monitors and replenishes ice, fruit, beer, wine, spirits, mixers, and glasses throughout the shift as needed in both the general and VIP areas.
  • Responds to bartender calls for bar needs.
  • Clears bar and tables as needed.
  • Prepares a requisition for bar needs that were depleted during shift.
  • Keeps work prep and serving areas clean according to State Board of Health standards.
  • Presents a clean and professional appearance at all times.
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Ensures guest satisfaction by responding to guest inquiries with accurate information and a positive attitude.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Language Ability: Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of internet software.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and less than one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
