The Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join Remote as a VAT Analyst within our VAT Team (Finance). This is a 12-month fixed-term role.

About the Team

The Finance team is central to Remote's operations, managing extensive finance functions at a company of this size. We are a high-performing, multi-skilled team committed to excellence, aiming to be the best in everything we do.

Requirements

• Experience in a Tax department, particularly in preparing and filing tax returns, preferably in a Big 4 environment.
• SAP experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Management, or similar; Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA) status is highly valued.
• Strong team-player with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a drive for excellence.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Remote work experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit VAT Returns and related reports across multiple jurisdictions (EMEA/APAC).
• Coordinate with tax advisors for VAT obligations.
• Reconcile VAT accounts, analyze discrepancies, and liaise with finance teams for corrections.
• Review invoices for compliance with local tax laws and proper tax treatment.
• Manage e-invoicing regulations compliance across jurisdictions.
• Assist with VAT registrations and de-registrations.
• Support VAT audits and ad hoc research/projects, including international expansion and new VAT treatments.
• Monitor legislative changes affecting VAT and assess impacts.
• Implement process improvements for VAT reporting efficiency.
• Perform VAT number checks and maintain accurate VAT records.
• Collaborate with the tax technology team to ensure data accuracy.

Remote Compensation Philosophy

The salary range for this role is $28,000 - $62,950 USD, determined by role, level, location, and individual skills and experience. Actual pay depends on various factors and may change.
