Qualifications

• Diploma from vocational or technical school.
• Current Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certification is required.
• Specialized certifications, as needed.
• 1-3 years of technical experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for vascular ultrasound exam and positions patient on examination table following SOPs.
• Obtains pertinent imaging and diagnostic reports for correlation with ultrasound.
• Consults with referring physician about patient history to determine required exam.
• Sets up equipment and adjusts machine settings to ensure accurate results.
• Performs arterial testing of upper and lower extremities using waveform analysis and duplex imaging.
• Performs intracranial cerebrovascular testing using transcranial duplex imaging.
• Performs venous testing of upper and lower extremities with duplex imaging.
• Observes patient during examination and reports changes in condition or symptoms.
• Documents image details and labels studies; maintains records and logs exams performed.
• Performs regular calibration checks and troubleshoots equipment as needed.
• Performs related duties as required; adheres to ADA requirements for essential functions.
