Job summary

AdventHealth in Winter Garden, FL, is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to acquire and analyze ultrasound images for radiologist interpretation. You will sterilize equipment, perform high-quality exams, document findings in EMR/PACS, and educate patients while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include ensuring proper patient identification, collaborating with radiologists, and upholding infection control standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of ultrasound physics and anatomy to perform independent procedures.
• Ability to use computer systems for data entry and retrieval including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent patient care and communication skills across all ages; English required.
• Radiology software packages and PACS proficiency; adapt to department policies.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and analyze ultrasound images and data for radiologist interpretation.
• Sterilize transducers and maintain hygiene and safety standards.
• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per orders and protocols.
• Document results accurately in EMR and PACS.
• Educate patients about exams and maintain efficient workflow.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and adapt protocols for all ages.
• Follow infection control and PPE procedures.
• Verify patient identity and clinical history before scanning.
• Collaborate with radiologists and other providers to ensure proper imaging.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and ensure equipment safety checks.
• Notify team when inventory is low.
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort and privacy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
