Open Systems Inc. is seeking a Vascular Ultrasound Sonographer for a 3 months+ contract in Alpharetta, Georgia. This role involves performing Vascular imaging for Geriatric patients and requires expertise in handling duplex ultrasound instruments and non-invasive pressure measurements.

The ideal candidate should have a High School Diploma, a Registered Vascular Technologist certification, and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Independent work ability and proficiency in PACS/EPIC systems are essential.

Summary: The Vascular Ultrasound Sonographer, under the direction of Vascular Surgeon, Radiologist, Cardiac Surgeon, and Manager of Diagnostic Cardiology will perform Vascular imaging for Geriatric patients in various body planes which results in the production of quality images for diagnostic interpretation. The performance of the tests requires the use of duplex ultrasound instruments as well as various plethysmographic instruments and non-invasive arterial pressure measurement techniques. Provides patient care that is essential to ultrasound imaging and recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action. Initiates life support measures. Assists in the optimization of patient flow and study completion.

  • Performs quality Vascular studies according to established departmental protocols. Applies appropriate test to arrive at the results based on presenting symptoms and indications.
  • Reports results of Vascular testing to the referring physician and other pertinent medical staff personnel in a timely manner.
  • Completes and maintains associated reports through patient electronic medical records.
  • Proficiently applies the universal protocol with all procedures in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Perform and documents equipment and sonographer quality control according to department/accrediting body protocol.
  • Recognizes and reports any equipment malfunctions or environmental issues to management, maintenance, and clinical engineering.
  • Reports and documents all critical ultrasound findings to appropriate physicians and medical personnel.
  • Cleans and inspects equipment, including transducers after usage.
  • Keeps work area neat, clean, and stocked with supplies.
  • Attends and participates in monthly staff meetings.
Qualifications

Requirements: High School Diploma. Must be a Registered Vascular Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Must have successfully completed an accredited Vascular program that is approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program. Three years of experience as a Vascular Sonographer. Able to work independently. Must be proficient in using selective PACS/EPIC systems. Current registration by ARDMS/BLS certified.
