Job summary

Spohn Hospital Alice in Alice, TX seeks an ultrasound technologist to perform advanced cardiac and vascular circulation diagnostic exams using echo, ultrasound, and Doppler equipment.

The role requires ARDMS/ARRT/CCI credentials, a radiology or sonography program graduate, and 1–2 years of vascular ultrasound experience. Multiple shifts and part-time work offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Sonography or Radiology Technology Program required.
• ARDMS (RVT), ARRT (VS), and/or CCI (RVS) required.
• CPR (American Heart Association) or BLS is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound examinations of cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to assist in diagnosis of circulation disorders.
• Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of results.
• May perform therapeutic procedures such as pseudoaneurysm compression.
• Assists physicians with biopsies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and needle localization procedures.
• Performs routine ultrasound procedures across various vascular and organ systems.

Spohn Hospital Alice was built in 1999 to serve the healthcare needs of people in Alice and the surrounding communities.The hospital is a Level IV Trauma Center and is licensed for 186 beds and offers comprehensive medical and surgical services including pediatrics, obstetrics, skilled nursing,emergencyand intensive care, as well as cardiac and comprehensive services.

Summary

Performs advanced cardiac and vascular circulation diagnostic exams using echo, ultrasound, and/or Doppler equipment.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Performs ultrasound examinations of the cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to assist the physician in the diagnosis of disorders affecting the circulation.
• May perform therapeutic procedures such as pseudoaneurysm compression.
• Records and maintains tests data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results and other duties as assigned.
• Depending on hospital department, may also Performs routine abdominal, small parts, breast, OB/GYN, and other vascular ultrasound procedures.
• Assist physicians with biopsies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and needle localization procedures.

Requirements

Education/Skills

• High School Diploma.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Sonography or Radiology Technology Program required.

Experience

• 1-2 years experience in vascular ultrasound preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• ARDMS (RVT),ARRT (VS), and/or CCI (RVS) required.
• CPR ? (American Heart Association).
• BLS is required.
