Job summary

The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Inc. is seeking a vascular ultrasound technologist to perform exams, prepare patients, and document findings. You will operate ultrasound equipment and interpret vascular images to identify abnormalities, collaborating with clinicians to ensure accurate diagnoses.

Applicants should have an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology, BLS, and ARDMS credentials preferred. Prior vascular imaging experience is required, with on-site scheduling and a 40-hour work

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology required.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • ARDMS RDMS, RVT, and/or Certified Sonographer preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar vascular ultrasound role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for vascular ultrasound exams, explain procedures and position them.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to produce vascular images.
  • Interpret images to identify vascular abnormalities.
  • Document exam findings in the medical record.

Job Summary

Responsible for performing vascular ultrasound examinations on patients. This includes preparing patients for exams, operating ultrasound equipment, and interpreting ultrasound images.

Essential Functions
  • Prepare patients for vascular ultrasound exams by explaining procedures, positioning patients, and applying gel to the skin.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment, such as transducers and monitors, to produce images of blood vessels.
  • Interpret ultrasound images to identify vascular abnormalities.
  • Document exam findings in the patient's medical record.
  • Communicate with physicians and other healthcare providers about exam findings.
Qualifications

Education

Associate's degree Radiologic Technology required

Licenses and Credentials

  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification]
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer [RDMS] - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) preferred
  • Registered Vascular Technologist [RVT] - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) preferred
  • Certified Sonographer - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) preferred
