Your Vascular Expertise Was Meant for More

Some vascular positions ask you to perform studies. Others invite you to become a true vascular specialist. At PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, you'll do far more than complete a schedule of routine exams. You'll perform a broad spectrum of venous and arterial studies, collaborate with physicians who value your clinical insight, and participate directly in vascular procedures including radiofrequency ablations, VenaSeal treatments, and carotid endarterectomies. This is the kind of role many vascular technologists spend years hoping to find. One day you're helping uncover a diagnosis that changes a patient's treatment plan. The next, you're supporting a vascular surgical procedure where your expertise contributes directly to patient outcomes. The work stays interesting because the variety is real. The position supports both PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center and the outpatient cardiovascular imaging center located on campus. You'll work with Philips EPIQ systems throughout the program and be part of a vascular service where sonographers are trusted clinical partners, not simply image producers. With an average of about eight cases per day, you'll have the opportunity to focus on quality patient care and thoughtful vascular assessment rather than feeling rushed from one exam to the next. And when your shift ends, life outside of work begins. Bellingham offers something many healthcare professionals are searching for: room to breathe. Mountains, trails, waterfront views, and easy access to Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia create a lifestyle where work remains important, but doesn't become everything. As a Person-First, Value-Driven, and Highly Trusted organization, PeaceHealth believes caring for caregivers is just as important as caring for patients. That commitment shows up through comprehensive benefits, support for continuing education, wellness resources, retirement contributions, and a culture that values the people behind the profession.

Schedule
  • Full-Time, 1.0 FTE
  • Day Shift (4x10’s)
  • Shifts: 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Predictable four-week rotation that includes only one weekend every 4 weeks.
Compensation

$50.16 - $75.29 per hour. Actual compensation is determined by factors including experience, education, training, seniority, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Why You'll Love This Role
  • Perform a broad mix of vascular studies rather than spending every day on the same exam types.
  • Participate in vascular surgical procedures including RFA, VenaSeal, and carotid endarterectomy cases.
  • An average workload of approximately eight cases per day, providing time to focus on patient care, image quality, and clinical accuracy.
  • Enjoy four 10-hour shifts that create more days away from work.
  • Work across both hospital and outpatient environments for greater clinical variety.
  • Be part of a Person-First organization that invests in caregiver wellbeing, education, and long-term career growth.
  • Receive strong compensation, low cost medical/dental/vision coverage, retirement contributions, paid time off, employer-paid life and disability insurance, continuing education support, and wellness resources.
Who Thrives Here
  • Curious clinicians who enjoy learning and expanding their expertise.
  • Independent thinkers who trust their judgment and attention to detail.
  • People who find satisfaction in solving diagnostic puzzles.

Why You'll Love Living Here

Bellingham has a way of helping people reclaim balance. It's large enough to offer great restaurants, entertainment, and amenities, yet small enough to avoid many of the frustrations that come with larger cities. On your days off, you can head toward the water, the mountains, local trails, or simply enjoy a slower pace of life. Seattle is within reach. Vancouver, British Columbia is even closer. Many people come for the job and stay because of what life feels like outside of work.

If you're looking for a place where your vascular expertise matters, your observations are valued, and your work extends beyond routine scanning, this conversation may be worth having.

Working Conditions: Active clinical setting with frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, and patient positioning; Ability to safely assist with patient handling and move equipment as needed; Requires fine motor skills for operating ultrasound equipment and performing detailed vascular studies; Exposure to a healthcare environment, including body fluids, airborne
