Overview

Assists with clinical rotations in both in-patient and outpatient settings as the schedule dictates and participates in after-hours and on-call services.

Responsibilities

- Perform basic and intermediate vascular lab studies. Use independent judgement to differentiate between normal and abnormal findings. Follow IAC approved scanning protocols and utilize Smart Protocols when possible. Review images and paperwork to ensure quality exams are complete, thorough and prepared for review by reading physicians.
- Participate in the daily workflow by monitoring the technologist worklist to ensure timely patient care. Schedule exams through the transport system if applicable. Participate in the Vascular Lab after hours, on-call, weekend and holiday schedules.
- Operate vascular lab testing equipment and software packages, including ultrasound and physiological equipment, EMR and Structured Reporting and PACS. Proficient in using telephones, printers, and fax machines. Report equipment issues to appropriate personnel and remove equipment from service. Clean equipment and work areas daily and stock rooms with supplies and linen. Perform monthly deep cleaning of equipment and maintain logs.
- Attend staff and departmental meetings as well as educational conferences. Participate in discussions. Keep abreast of changes in the field and participate in collecting data, images and articles as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
- This is a non-management job that reports to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
- Education — Graduate of a formal/Director approved Sonography program
- Experience — One (1) year vascular sonography experience performing non-invasive vascular lab studies
- Clinical rotations during a formal educational program may be considered as experience.
In Lieu Of
- Five (5) years of dedicated vascular lab experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum requirements noted above.
- Team members employed in this job on 11/08/2020 are grandfathered under prior educational and experience requirements.
