The Vascular Technologist works closely with cardiology providers and radiologist, by performing non-invasive vascular exams in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of disorders or diseases affecting the vascular system.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares patients for procedures by taking their medical history and answering any questions about the procedure
- Prepares and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment
- Applies non-invasive ultrasound techniques to diagnose blood vein, artery, or vessel diseases or disorders.
- Make adjustments to equipment to produce high-quality ultrasound images for physicians to interpret.
- Compares patients’ most recent scans to previous results and assessing diagnostic information.
- Reviews images and/ or test results to ensure quality and adequate coverage of the areas needed for diagnoses
- Recognizes the difference between normal and abnormal images, and accurately positions patients so desired anatomy will be demonstrated
- Determines and sets appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology
- Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients
- Contributes to the overall patient experience and satisfaction

- Adheres to HR, safety, HIPAA and compliance policies, and attendance requirements
- Performs work in accordance with established schedules, policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in vascular technology.
- Current California State-licensed Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a vascular technologist.
- Advanced knowledge of ultrasound equipment, procedures, and techniques.
- Current BLS or CPR
- Experience working with an EMR (i.e., Epic)
- Ability to accurately type a minimum of 40 WPM
- Strong verbal and written communications, and active listening skills
- Solid patient/guest relations skills with the ability to communicate in a professional, courteous and efficient manner
- Ability to perform basic math
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize task in order to complete assignments within the time allotted to maintain standard workflow
- Ability to work effectively as a team member who is flexible, cooperative and willing to assist others
Preferred:
