Job summary

Charleston Area Medical Center's Heart & Vascular Center seeks a Vascular Tech 2 to perform comprehensive noninvasive vascular testing, including cerebral, venous, and arterial assessments. The role supports physicians in diagnosis and treatment, coordinates patient transfers, and contributes to education and quality initiatives.

You will work in a dynamic lab environment, maintain competency, and participate in policy development and research collaborations.

Qualifications

• Formalized training in diagnostic ultrasound or echocardiography as required.
• Minimum 1 year of vascular ultrasound experience; on-the-job training may substitute for formal training.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Perform peripheral vascular noninvasive testing inclusive of cerebral, venous and arterial systems to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Responsibilities

• Perform peripheral vascular testing inclusive of cerebral, venous and arterial systems.
• Assess the condition of inpatients and coordinate their transfer to and from testing procedures.
• Explain testing procedures to each patient and obtain a specific history.
• Perform inservices and act as an educational resource to staff personnel, medical education students and other health care professionals. Assist with maintaining technical competence of staff by assessing educational needs and recommending educational programs.
