Job summary

Endeavor Health seeks a Vascular Technologist to independently perform vascular ultrasound testing, including arterial, venous, and carotid imaging, ensuring accurate findings and documentation. You will promptly communicate results to physicians and coordinate the busy vascular lab schedule.

The role requires a diploma or vocational degree, graduation from an accredited program, and a minimum of 2 years in a hospital setting; RVT/CRVT certification is preferred or must be obtained within 2

Qualifications

  • Diploma or vocational degree required.
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound/vascular technology program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of vascular technologist experience in a hospital setting.
  • RVT or CRVT certification preferred/required based on eligibility. If not registered, must obtain RVT certification within 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Independently performs vascular ultrasound testing, including arterial, venous, and carotid imaging.
  • Communicates abnormal or positive results promptly to physicians and staff.
  • Coordinates the daily vascular lab schedule with nursing units and physician offices.
  • Maintains patient comfort and safety, responds to emergencies, and assists with patient needs.
  • Operates, cleans, and maintains vascular ultrasound equipment and provides intraoperative support.
  • Supports department operations through scheduling, documentation, coding/reimbursement, and accreditation tasks.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$35.35 - $54.79 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:
  • Position: Vascular Technologist
  • Location: Glenview, Highland Park
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full time and/or PRN
  • Hours: Daytime hours, with on-call responsibilities
What you will do:
  • Independently performs vascular ultrasound testing, including arterial, venous, and carotid imaging, while ensuring accurate preliminary findings and documentation.
  • Communicates abnormal or positive results promptly to physicians, nurses, and other appropriate clinical staff and follows up on physician instructions as needed.
  • Coordinates the daily vascular lab schedule, works with nursing units and physician offices, and helps ensure efficient day-to-day department operations.
  • Maintains patient comfort and safety throughout testing, responds appropriately to emergencies, and assists with patient and family needs.
  • Operates, cleans, and maintains vascular ultrasound equipment, including providing intraoperative ultrasound support and assisting with staff training.
  • Supports department operations through scheduling, documentation, coding/reimbursement requirements, accreditation activities, ongoing education, and coverage at other vascular sites as needed.
What you will need:
  • Diploma or vocational degree required.
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound/vascular technology program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of vascular technologist experience in a hospital setting required for this level.
  • Candidates with related experience but less than 2 years of direct vascular technologist experience should be considered for a Level I position.
  • RVT or CRVT certification preferred/required based on eligibility.
    If not currently registered, must obtain RVT certification within 2 years of employment.
