Job summary

SAMGI seeks a full-time PA or NP to support Vascular Surgery and Trauma/ACS at a Level II Trauma Center in Bakersfield. The role is 15 days per month with 10-hour shifts, offering a unique surgical scope within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates have a PA-C or NP certification, California license, and 1–2 years of surgical experience, with OR and inpatient exposure preferred. Join a clinician-led group focused on exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program.
• Current or eligible California PA or NP license.
• 1–2 years surgical experience preferred — vascular, trauma, ACS, general surgery, or critical care.
• OR and inpatient surgical experience preferred.
• Comfortable working across two services in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Open and endovascular procedure support.
• Inpatient consultations & rounds for vascular surgery.
• PAD, dialysis access, carotid disease, varicose veins management.

What you'll do clinically

Vascular Surgery

• Open and endovascular procedure support
• Inpatient consultations & rounds
• PAD, dialysis access, carotid disease, varicose veins
• Perioperative and postoperative care

• Trauma and acute surgical patient evaluation
• Inpatient rounds and consultations
• Preoperative and postoperative care
• Bedside procedures within scope
• Multidisciplinary care coordination

Qualifications
