Job summary

Surgical Affiliates Management Group (SAMGI) is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support both Vascular Surgery and Trauma/Acute Care Surgery at a Level II Trauma Center in Bakersfield, California.

The role offers a unique dual-service opportunity with a predictable schedule of 15 days per month, each shift 10 hours long, and a collaborative surgical team with strong administrative support to focus on patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current PA-C or NP certification.
• Current or eligible California PA or NP license.
• 1–2 years of surgical experience preferred.
• Experience in vascular surgery, trauma, acute care surgery, general surgery, or critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support open and endovascular procedures.
• Perform inpatient consultations and rounds.
• Assist in management of vascular conditions including PAD, dialysis access, carotid disease, varicose veins.
• Provide perioperative and postoperative patient care.
• Evaluate and manage trauma and acute surgical patients.
• Participate in inpatient rounds and surgical consultations.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care.
• Perform bedside procedures within scope of practice.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams.

The Opportunity

Surgical Affiliates Management Group (SAMGI) is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support both Vascular Surgery and Trauma/Acute Care Surgery at a Level II Trauma Center in Bakersfield, California.

This is a unique dual-service opportunity offering broad surgical experience across two high-acuity programs. The position features a predictable schedule of 15 days per month with 10-hour shifts , a collaborative surgical team, and dedicated administrative support so you can focus on patient care.
