North Central Heart Vascular Surgeon – Joint Opportunity with Avera McKennan Hospital
Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Job Description:
In collaboration with Avera McKennan Hospital, North Central Heart Institute seeks a Board Certified/Board Eligible Vascular Surgeon to join our exceptional team of specialists. Join our team of 3 vascular surgeons in a state-of-the-art environment, providing cutting-edge vascular care to patients across the region. The Vascular Surgeons provide services at Avera McKennan Hospital, Avera Heart Hospital, and North Central Heart Institute.
As a vital multidisciplinary team member, you will have access to the latest technology, advanced surgical suites, and a robust referral network. You’ll also contribute to outreach initiatives to improve access to vascular care within North Central Hearts footprint.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a full spectrum of vascular surgeries, including both open and endovascular procedures within McKennan Hospital and Avera Heart Hospital.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations and follow-up care for both hospital systems on a rotating basis.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including cardiologists, interventional radiologists, hospitalists, podiatrists, orthopedics, pulmonologists, and primary care physicians.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs.
- Support outreach efforts to expand vascular services within the region.
- Contribute to the education and mentoring of medical students, residents, and other clinical staff as applicable.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Vascular Surgery Fellowship.
- Board certified or Board eligible in Vascular Surgery.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in South Dakota.
- Strong commitment to providing patient-centered, evidence-based care.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
