Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the Vascular Surgery -C5 unit on the Day shift. The role focuses on compassionate patient care, medication administration, IV starts, and collaboration with the nursing team to develop a Plan of Care.

You will interpret tests, assess patient needs, provide primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, and ensure documentation complies with policy and regulations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program with Diploma/AS/BSN.
• Must hold NYS Registered Nurse license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 1–3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Quality improvement knowledge and application.

Responsibilities

• Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, and documents treatment.
• Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patients.
• Assesses patient needs and responses to care rendered.
• Applies nursing judgment in patient care decisions.
• Provides primary and emergency care for injuries/illnesses.
• Collaborates with the nursing team to plan care.
• Directs ancillary staff and maintains professional nursing standards.
