Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME seeks a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Vascular Surgeon to join a growing surgical program. The role includes open and endovascular procedures within a hospital-based setting, with call coverage and service-line development opportunities.

Ideal candidates will be MD or DO graduates with completed Vascular Surgery training, Maine licensure eligibility, and DEA certification. Relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of accredited Vascular Surgery residency or fellowship.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Maine; DEA certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive vascular surgical care including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of vascular disease.
  • Perform open and endovascular procedures in a hospital-based setting.
  • Evaluate and manage inpatient vascular consultations.
  • Participate in call coverage and vascular service line development.
  • Collaborate with cardiology, nephrology, wound care, and critical care services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Education

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Vascular Surgery residency or fellowship completed
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery
Eligible for medical licensure in Maine
DEA certification

Position Overview

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified / Board-Eligible Vascular Surgeon to join our growing surgical program at Central Maine Medical Center located in Lewiston.

Procedures May Include
  • Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR / TEVAR)
  • Peripheral vascular interventions
  • Carotid endarterectomy and carotid stenting
  • Lower extremity bypass surgery
  • Dialysis access creation and maintenance
  • Management of peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischemia
  • Venous disease management and thrombectomy procedures
