Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a Board-Certified / Board-Eligible Vascular Surgeon to join our surgical program in Lewiston, Maine. This position offers an opportunity for comprehensive vascular care, performing a variety of surgical procedures including open and endovascular methods. Candidates will engage in a collaborative environment with various healthcare teams.

The ideal candidate will hold an MD or DO degree, be board certified in Vascular Surgery, and be eligible for medical licensure in Maine. A competitive compensation package and benefits are included.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive vascular surgical care including diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up of vascular disease.
  • Perform open and endovascular procedures in a hospital‑based surgical setting.
  • Evaluate and manage inpatient vascular consultations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Position Overview

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Board‑Certified / Board‑Eligible Vascular Surgeon to join our growing surgical program at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive vascular care, including open and endovascular procedures, and to collaborate with cardiology, interventional radiology, nephrology, and critical care teams.

Position Highlights

Procedures May Include
  • Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR / TEVAR)
  • Peripheral vascular interventions
  • Carotid endarterectomy and carotid stenting
  • Lower extremity bypass surgery
  • Dialysis access creation and maintenance
  • Management of peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischemia
  • Venous disease management and thrombectomy procedures

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive vascular surgical care including diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up of vascular disease
  • Perform open and endovascular procedures in a hospital‑based surgical setting
  • Evaluate and manage inpatient vascular consultations
  • Participate in call coverage and vascular service line development
  • Collaborate with cardiology, nephrology, wound care, and critical care services
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
