Job summary

Advocate Health in North Carolina is seeking a skilled vascular sonographer to support the WFBMC Main Cardiology: Vascular Laboratory. You will verify orders, perform vascular ultrasound, document findings, and relay preliminary reports to physicians.

Requires RVT/RVS credentials, a minimum of two years’ experience, and BLS certification. Work hours are full-time (40h/week), with Mon-Fri daytime schedule and rotating weekends/holidays; sign-on and relocation options may apply.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP vascular sonography program or comparable experience with RVT or RVS credentials required.
  • Two years of experience required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Meets all requirements of a Vascular Ultra Tech/MG/Clinic I and must have at least five mandatory competencies: Renal Artery Doppler, Visceral Doppler, Thoracic Outlet, Cold immersion testing, Allen’s testing, Fistula mapping, post‑operative Doppler lower arterial (Stents, bypass angioplasty), EVAR, Venous reflux; Venous procedure (sterile scrub tech); Ulcer bed sclerotherapy siting; Iliac vein study – May Thurner; Iliac vein stent evaluation; post venous procedure EHIT evaluation; Carotid stent or bypass.

Responsibilities

  • Verify physician’s orders and review patient record prior to exam.
  • Perform basic vascular ultrasound testing according to accredited vascular laboratory protocols, ensuring patient comfort throughout exam.
  • Recognize and document abnormal pathologies according to imaging protocols as necessary to support diagnosis.
  • Provide physician with detailed preliminary report.
  • Enter measurement data and final report into cardiovascular reporting system.
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned and functioning in accordance with manufacturers’ guidelines.
